IFC’s Crimson War Ends in Success

The final count is in. According to Joe O’Brien, chair of community service for the Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC) and in charge of this year’s Crimson War blood drive against the University of Maryland, 867 units of blood were donated by University students during the course of last week. Although short of their target goal of 1,000 units, the drive nevertheless set a Virginia state record, topping the old record of 824 units. A philanthropy popular especially among the Greek community, Greek members donated 375 of the 867 units. Phi Kappa Psi fraternity led the way with 42 units. Alpha Delta Pi and Pi Beta Phi led sororities with 23 units each. Perhaps most importantly, the University cementing a weekend of victory against Maryland by following-up the football team’s victory by remaining undefeated in the Crimson War.
